In 2020, the Nahelee project was launched, with the goal of partnering with local Portuguese carpenters and craftsmen to create sustainable furniture made from recycled wooden pallets.
By repurposing materials that might otherwise go to waste, Nahelee aimed to create beautiful and functional furniture while minimizing their environmental impact. Through their partnerships with local artisans, Nahelee was able to create a unique brand of reusable furniture that reflects their commitment to sustainability and community.

The challenge faced by the project was how to showcase the work of these local artisans digitally, so that customers could connect with them and appreciate the unique story behind each piece of furniture. To solve this challenge, the Nahelee team designed a website that not only displayed the furniture but also shared the stories of the people who made it.
By featuring photos and videos of the artisans at work, as well as sharing the history of the pallets, the website allowed customers to feel a personal connection with both the people and the materials behind the furniture. Through this approach, Nahelee was able to create a truly authentic brand that reflected their commitment to sustainability, craftsmanship, and community.
We created a design system that would not only build the consistency but also save time for the client as they build new features. This will improve the overall process and experience for the website.
